Bob Bradley

Bob Bradley is one of the most influential figures in American soccer history, widely regarded as a pioneer who helped establish the global credibility of American coaches. Over a Hall of Fame career spanning more than 25 years, Bradley has managed at every level of the game in the United States and abroad.

Bradley first established himself as one of Major League Soccer’s top managers, winning MLS Coach of the Year twice, along with two U.S. Open Cups and an MLS Cup. He rose to international prominence as head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team from 2006 to 2011, guiding the program through one of its most successful eras. His tenure included a historic victory over Spain in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and carrying the U.S. to its first-ever Confederations Cup Final. He later led the team to the knockout stage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, highlighted by Landon Donovan’s dramatic late goal against Algeria.

Following his time with the USMNT, Bradley took on the challenge of managing the Egyptian National Team during a period of significant political unrest. Despite the instability surrounding the program, he led Egypt to six straight victories and to within one match of qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Bradley’s club career has been equally distinguished and groundbreaking. He became the first American to manage in Norway’s top flight with Stabæk FC and later the first American coach to qualify for the UEFA Europa League. In France, he guided Le Havre AC to a fourth-place finish in Ligue 2 before making history in 2016 as the first American to manage in the Premier League with Swansea City.

Returning to Major League Soccer, Bradley served as manager of expansion side Los Angeles FC, leading the club to the playoffs in each of its first three seasons. Under his leadership, LAFC set a league record with 72 points in 2019, won the Supporters’ Shield, and reached the CONCACAF Champions League Final in 2020. He later reunited with his son, Michael Bradley, at Toronto FC, where they won the 2022 Canadian Championship.

Over the course of his career, Bradley has coached many of the most prominent players of his generation, including Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Michael Bradley, Tim Howard, Mohamed Salah, Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi, and Lorenzo Insigne. From World Cup stages to pioneering roles abroad, his career has helped shape the modern identity of American soccer.
