Robert Saleh

Robert Saleh is the head coach of the Tennessee Titans with more than two decades of NFL coaching experience. He has held roles with the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and New York Jets.

Prior to his Titans tenure, he had been a part of nine top-10 defenses throughout his time in the NFL, and in his nine seasons as a defensive coordinator or head coach, his team has finished in the top five in total defense on five occasions.

Most recently, Saleh served as defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers before being named head coach of the Titans in 2026.

From 2021 to 2024, Saleh was the head coach of the New York Jets. During his tenure, the team developed multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl players and fielded one of the league’s top-ranked defenses. When he was hired by the Jets, Saleh became the first Muslim head coach in NFL history.

Saleh previously served as defensive coordinator of the 49ers from 2017 to 2020, helping lead the team to a Super Bowl appearance and earning Sporting News Coordinator of the Year honors in 2019.
