Camryn Rogers was born in Richmond, British Columbia, and quickly became a dominant force in the Hammer Throw. Winning the U20 World Championships in 2018 set her on the path for total domination. Her development continued at the University of California, where she became one of the most decorated NCAA athletes in history, winning the title three times and the NCAA record throw.
Camryn made her Olympic debut in the 2020 Tokyo Games, finishing fifth which was impressive at her young age. A breakthrough season in 2022 saw Camryn winning silver at the World Championships, the first ever Canadian woman to win a medal in the sport at the World’s. This was followed by a gold at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games that year, solidifying her place at the top of the sport.
In 2023, Camryn extended her winning run, taking gold at the World Championships in Budapest. There was one left to go, and at Paris 2024, Camryn delivered an outstanding performance, throwing a 76.97m in the 5th round to claim the gold medal, Canada’s inaugural medal for the Women’s Hammer Throw, and the first gold for a Canadian woman in a Track and Field Event in 96 years. These consecutive victories have placed Camryn as the dominant force in the sport, which she hopes to continue for many years to come.
