Harper Murray, the 6-foot-2 outside hitter for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, exploded onto the national volleyball stage at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a senior, she delivered a staggering 726 kills, 409 digs, 86 aces, and 40 blocks—leading the Eagles to a 38‑9 season and a regional semifinal appearance. With a sharp .405 hitting percentage, she capped her high school career with 2,488 kills and 1,460 digs, earning her the title of Gatorade National Player of the Year, Michigan’s Miss Volleyball, and the No. 1 national ranking by PrepVolleyball.com.
She arrived in Lincoln in January 2023 as one of the most heralded recruits in Nebraska volleyball history—and has more than lived up to the hype.
Now in her junior year, Harper has already established herself as a cornerstone of the program. As a freshman, she earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year and AVCA Third-Team All-American honors, helping lead the Huskers to the NCAA national championship match. She followed it up with a standout sophomore campaign, earning AVCA Second-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big Ten honors while leading Nebraska in kills (3.40 per set), aces, and overall offensive production.
Known for her explosive attacking, smart shot selection, and fierce competitiveness, Murray has consistently delivered in high-pressure moments—most notably with 22 kills in the NCAA Regional Semifinal against Dayton, earning her Most Outstanding Player of the round and a spot on the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team.
