Through her pioneering leadership and commitment to excellence, Nancy has reshaped industries and created lasting legacies.

Nancy’s career has spanned professional sports, business development, community outreach, and philanthropic leadership. As Head Coach and GM of Business Development for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks G-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, Nancy broke new ground, leading the team to the playoffs in her first season and fostering an environment of growth and success. Her leadership in sports is unparalleled—she was the first woman to serve as Head Coach of the WNBA’s Detroit Shock, where she managed overall operations, including budget, P&L, player contracts, and staff compensation.

A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer and a Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer, Nancy has repeatedly defied boundaries. She was the second woman in NBA history hired as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings, and the first female head coach in the NBA’s G-League. As Head Coach of Power in the BIG3 League, she became the first woman to lead a men’s professional basketball team to a championship, earning Coach of the Year honors in 2018. Nancy is a 2x Olympic silver medalist and a trailblazer in the fight for gender equality in professional sports.

Beyond sports, Nancy is a visionary business strategist. She has served on numerous influential boards, including the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Governors, where she played a key role in a $35 million capital campaign. She is an executive board member of the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), where she chairs the Treasury/Finance Committee, overseeing more than $20 million in assets. In 2024, she became the Chair of the Finance Committee of the NBRPA. Nancy was also instrumental in securing Dallas’s bidding rights for the 2012 Olympics and helping the city acquire the rights to host the NCAA Men’s Tournament.

A passionate advocate for social impact, Nancy founded Nancy Lieberman Charities, a multi-million-dollar nonprofit that has supported underprivileged youth and communities nationwide. Through her extensive media presence—over 14 billion media hits in 2023 alone—Nancy amplifies her voice to advocate for equity, health, wellness, and technology, using her platform to drive positive change around the globe.
