Samantha Johnson is a British-Jamaican international sports broadcaster and journalist with over two decades of experience in media and communications. She has worked with major networks including Sky Sports News, BeIN Sports, Chelsea TV and Eurosport. Notably, she spent seven years anchoring flagship sports programmes for TRT World in Istanbul, such as Beyond the Game. Currently, she presents for the Al Jazeera Media Network. Johnson has covered significant sporting events, including the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2016 and 2020 UEFA European Championships, and the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix. She has also hosted major FIFA events, such as the 2022 World Cup Draw, the Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 and various Olympic and Club World Cup draws.
Beyond broadcasting, Johnson is a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion and women’s rights.
